At present, the quotation for transfer printing has reached more than 3 yuan per square meter, and the price of reactive printing is about 15 yuan. These processing costs are most similar to traditional printing costs in transfer printing. There is still about half the gap between reactive ink and traditional screen printing. The key point that affects this processing cost is still the nozzle and ink.


The mainstream print heads currently used for digital printing are Kyocera, Starlight, and Samba. The first two print heads have been used in the Chinese market for more than five years. Everyone has already understood its advantages and disadvantages. Have fun with these sprinklers too. For example, starlight heads are mostly used for coatings, followed by dispersion; Kyocera heads are mostly used for activity followed by dispersion; and for the application of samba nozzles, domestic equipment is mainly used for dispersion and less activity. In addition, the time used is far less than one year, so now It is still difficult to evaluate its strengths and weaknesses. However, judging from the application history of the previous two types of sprinklers, the risk for activity is far greater than dispersion.


We want to reduce the cost of loss in sprinkler applications. Only by carefully caring for sprinklers and understanding the characteristics of various sprinklers can it work longer. This is the key thing we can do to reduce costs. Let me talk about some of my views and suggestions on the three commonly used sprinklers.


1, Kyocera nozzle application
①, Kyocera’s tested and certified ink. At present, some ink manufacturers have cooperated with Kyocera Corporation, and both will issue ink test reports. The main test items are as follows:
A, material compatibility test. Epoxy glue, filter screen, nozzle opening, sealing material.
B, spray test. When jetting temperature, ink drop speed up to standard, satellite dot situation, tailing situation, ink leakage phenomenon.

C, others. The degree of quick-drying and the measured speed of ink droplets.


There are some ink companies in China that have passed Kyocera’s test, but they have not yet seen the certification issued by Kyocera. It is said that Kyocera mainly cooperates with equipment factories for this kind of business cooperation, so the related supporting ink factories It can only sign the relevant certification certificate with Kyocera through his supporting equipment factory. Several companies said that by the end of the year, it is estimated that they will soon see the certification certificate.


The certified ink not only passes the compatibility of the ink to the nozzle, but also passes some of the printing performance of the nozzle. In this way, Kyocera must do the corresponding ink waveform matching work, so that the matched waveform can be used when using it. The print head exerts the best printing effect. At present, it has only passed Kyocera's test, and there is no corresponding small-scale matching ink that can only be said to be usable, but it does not give the best performance of the print head.


Of course, the cost of inks that have passed Kyocera’s certification will increase by at least 5-10%. Perhaps this is the reason. Now many equipment factories only need to pass the inspection and do not need a certificate. Therefore, customers who also hope to use Kyocera ink should ask whether they have passed the inspection certificate of Kyocera nozzle factory. This is a guarantee for the nozzles they use.


②, the improvement of commonly used active ink. Customers of reactive inks used by Kyocera print heads often talk to me that the print heads used in black and royal blue inks will break faster than other color print heads. In addition, some users have some complaints about yellow and cyan. For this reason, some ink factories are also making continuous efforts to improve several inks that are more damaging to the print head.


A, black ink. At present, most companies use dark black made of black 5 materials. In order to prevent hydrolysis, the pH value of this ink is usually about 4.0-4.5. This pH value has a great influence on the glue in the nozzle. Therefore, some powerful ink factories will modify this black 5 raw material. According to their own introduction, the improved PH value will become about 7.0-7.5. Therefore, the damage to the print head with their black active ink is basically the same as that of other colors. At present, no ink factory that has modified it can also make an attempt in this regard.


B, royal blue ink. The raw material is No. 49 Royal Blue, which is characterized by slowly hydrolyzing. To prevent it from being hydrolyzed, its PH value should not be relatively high. Therefore, when using this color, control the delivery time of the ink. In other words, the damage to the print head will be greater if the ink is more than three months old.


C, yellow ink. It is a double-stranded dye structure. It is better to synthesize separately than in one pot during synthesis, so that the light fastness can be improved by at least half a level. However, the yellow color of some companies also has a certain effect on the glue of the print head. The ink factory with this problem should pay attention to it and improve it in time.


D, cyan ink. In some companies, the color of this ink is a bit dark, and there are certain problems with washing, so it is also a concern to choose a good cyan ink.


2, Starlight Sprinkler Application

This print head is currently the most durable of the mainstream print heads used, and it is usually used first for the most difficult inks. It's just that the ink droplets of this nozzle are a bit big, and the physical accuracy is not too high, which restricts its wide application. For this reason, the nozzle factory has also developed a 7PL small droplet nozzle, but its variable point performance is not so ideal in practical applications. Therefore, I also suggest that some board card manufacturers should focus on the large power of the starlight nozzle, and specialize in in-depth research and practice for the characteristics of the variable point that the change of the ink droplet volume is not easy to control. 


In my experience, it is mainly because the phase of the oscillating wave when the waveform is cut in at a large point is not easy to find, which makes it difficult to control the ink droplet size during multi-wave, and the ink droplet speed is also constantly changing. If the ink droplets of the large, medium and small ink droplets are not stretched out, the variable point of excessive speed difference cannot be applied. For this type of ink droplets with larger energy, only one fixed point can be used to ensure the above requirements. Sometimes when the matching is not very good, the satellite point or tail phenomenon behind this fixed point is more serious than other nozzles. Is serious.


3, samba nozzle application

At present, the active and dispersing ink equipment for the samba nozzle is used in the actual factory, but the application time is not long, and some of its problems have not been publicly exposed, so many people do not know the current application status of this nozzle. In many public occasions, whether it is the sprinkler factory or the equipment factory and the customer, it is said that everything is good for the samba sprinkler, and it can only be said before the problem is found out. But such a statement is also an incomplete review of the samba nozzle, and it also shows that it is really not known whether it can adapt to different inks, and it is impossible to say what its current shortcomings are.


A sprinkler has its advantages and its shortcomings. Unfortunately, at this meeting, I wanted to always hear about the shortcomings of this sprinkler, so that we can trigger some improvements to adapt to its shortcomings. Only by understanding it correctly can its talents be brought into play, and to put it in the most applicable industries and inks, is the most responsible assessment of this print head. Some unknowing risks are hidden in the investment and application because they have not heard the evaluation in this regard.


Judging from the application process of the first two sprinklers, it takes at least two years of application experience for a sprinkler to be maturely used in this industry, and everyone will have a correct understanding of its performance. At the same time, the sprinkler factory will also collect some existing problems. Some major improvements are needed to adapt to the application needs of this industry. Regardless of whether this nozzle is currently used in this industry, there are still some shortcomings, but the technology of this nozzle is the direction of future development of the nozzle. As far as I know, every sprinkler factory is now developing such sprinklers, and will try to solve and improve the problems that occur in the application.


I went to a foreign sprinkler factory not long ago, and they think so too. To talk about its current problem, it depends on the size of the dosage. If the amount is increased, the nozzle has a good prospect. If it is not available, it will be difficult to promote the nozzle.


I have heard several cases of bad applications of this nozzle. Most of them are blocked and damaged in the test. Since the damaged part of the nozzle has not been dissected, I don’t know what caused the damage of the nozzle for the time being. Most users think that this sprinkler is relatively delicate (estimated compared with Kyocera), and there are many things to pay attention to during use. If you are not careful, this sprinkler is easy to be damaged.


4. Assessment of damage to the nozzle

When I analyze the damage of a nozzle, I usually consider it from four aspects.


A. First, the most vulnerable parts and components of the nozzle itself;


B. Second, the influence caused by ink;


C. Third, maintenance problems during use;


D. Fourth, equipment vendors have problems in designing ink circuits.


From the current collection, the reasons for the premature damage of the samba nozzle are mainly based on these four aspects, and it is not easy to divide which weight is larger. Through analysis, countermeasures can be formulated, so that the nozzle can be used better and longer, and the application cost can be greatly reduced.


5. The price of ink
At the meeting, many users' expectations for ink should be reduced by another 30-40%, so that the application volume of this industry will increase again, and it is estimated that news of ink price reductions will continue to emerge in the past two years. For this reason, it is hard to escape the trend of price reduction for the production of matching parts for ink, so each manufacturer must make preparations for price reduction in order to adapt to this round of ink price reduction trends.
